Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, an American-Mexican sportscaster. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN in the role of anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been bilingual since her age of nine. This ability allowed her to land her first position at Univision, Miami. She was able to work alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate immediately following the interview. Her family relocated from Mexico to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. The couple divorced shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she got married to an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. She stayed there in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, which was the time she received the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was a senior high school student however, she was certain of her professional goals. She went to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. She loved the campus. They also offered the college she had always wanted. She finished her education and was admitted to the university with a degree in media studies. Her instructor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was student in her class, formed a strong relationship with the student. His enthusiasm for journalism and confidence in herself inspired her. She in turn, tried to meet the standards he set and to not disappoint him.
